National conference on fair trade and import and export held in Beijing
National conference on fair trade and import and export was held in Beijing On October 12. Mr. Zhong shan, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy International Trade Representative attended and addressed the conference.
Mr. Zhong pointed out that this year is the 10th anniversary of China’s accession to WTO. With the rapid development of foreign trade, China has become the largest exporter and the second largest importer. Meanwhile, our competition and trade conflicts of interests in trade with certain countries are on the increase. We have made great achievements in actively coping with international trade friction, taking advantage of trade remedy measures, participating in bilateral and multilateral negotiations and ceaselessly stepping up team building. A vertical linkage, horizontal cooperation, information sharing and high efficiency pattern of work has been formed in central authority, local places, business associations and related enterprises, which contribute to steadily developing foreign trade and maintaining legitimate interests of domestic industries for our country.
Mr. Zhong stressed that China's current domestic and international economic situation is very complicated and challenging as well as fair trade work. We should stand on a new historical starting point, continually innovative work method, and further improve methods in coping with trade frictions trade remedy investigation in accordance with newly changing domestic and international situations. We should strengthen forward-looking, co-coordination and flexibility in our work, continually step up talented building, and hold tightly the initiative in work and striving to promote sound and rapid development in foreign trade.
Nearly 150 persons from central organizations and related department of the state council, local commercial authorities, industrial organizations, research institutions and some enterprises attended the meeting.
